Based on the French novelist Gaston Leroux’s 1911 gothic novel “Le Fantome de L’Opera”, “The Phantom of the Opera” is a tale of twisted triangular love. Adapted for the stage this tale of twisted love is rejoiced and remembered as London’s longest, strongest and most accredited theatrical phenomenon. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s enthralling tale of this masked Phantom has not lost a hairbreadth of its charm over the span of 28 glorious years.
Following the script of Richard Stilgoe & Andrew Lloyd Webber’s book, Phantom of the Opera has music by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Charles Hart & Richard Stilgoe. Hal Prince has directed this show with brilliance and the set designs are breath-taking. Production Designing has been done by Maria Bjornson. Musical staging and choreography is by Gillian Lynne whereas lighting by Andrew Bridge, sound by Martin Levan and orchestrations by David Cullen.
